The Trick-or-Treat Horror Film Festival is an exhilarating annual event that celebrates he art of short horror filmmaking!
It’s your ultimate Halloween experience, offering eerie thrills, unique creations, new friendships, and unforgettable memories! And, it all begins at the kick-off party on Thursday, 10/3/2024 at 7 PM!
KICK-OFF PARTY
On October 3rd at the stroke of 7 PM, you will be summoned before the horror gods to the Creative Veins Studio in Jacksonville’s San Marco area. During this dark and spectacular kick-off party, you will learn all the details of this nightmarish fest, meet-n-mingle with other devilish fiends, form or join a team, and select your team captain. Your team captain will then draw blindly from our 4 cauldrons of fate to determine your team’s film requirements (Horror Sub-Genre, Conflict, Weapon, and Location). But, be warned, not all is what it seems; both tricks and treats are waiting for you inside each cauldron. If the horror gods favor you, you will receive a treat, a requirement that will help your film. Perhaps they will bless you with a knife to kill your characters with? Who doesn’t love the classics? On the other hand, if the gods frown upon your pathetic existence, they will curse you with a trick, and you will be forced to make the weapon of your film something less sinister like a dog chew toy or a maxi pad. Good luck writing that!
FILM SUBMISSION
Teams will have approximately three (3) weeks to complete their 5-minute horror film. All films are due by Monday, 10/21/2024 at 9 AM.
FILM SCREENING
The Film Screening & Awards Ceremony will take place in downtown Jacksonville at the 175-seat Jessie Theatre on Saturday, 10/26/2024 at 6:30 PM! Epic After-Party immediately following back at Creative Veins Performing Arts Studio!
FEES
Each team member will pay a nominal participation fee of $13.13. A team member is categorized as any person (cast or crew or assistant) that helps in the making of your team’s film. Team members may participate on as many teams as they’d like!
